5 Keys to Change and Learning

Live Professional Development Event

Presented by Todd Wilmore and Martha Legare

Change requires learning and to achieve desired change it is necessary to understand how learning theory and change are interrelated. This session will explore an approach to change that emphasizes the needs to manage the transition and address key elements that combine to bring forth change.  Based in part on works by William Bridges, a model made popular by Dick Beckhard (Beckhard & Harris, 1987), and the "Change Cycle", by Salerno & Brock, participants should leave with:

  • A clear sense what each element is.
  • One or more tools to help improve future transitions
  • A more open sense of their change style.

Todd Wilmore has developed a reputation for incisiveness in identifying needs and solutions.  His talents have been developed over 20 years of study and consulting experience in Human Resource Development and over 16 years teaching for Central Michigan University and Saint Leo University.  Todd has presented at national educational conferences and professional ASTD conferences on topics ranging from storytelling to digital badges. He recently published a handbook for learning professionals called Keys to How We Learn. Ten Perspectives on Learning
