It's Good to Share... Isn't It? AT&T recently completed an enormous e-learning effort equivalent to turning up a new Fortune 500 company in less than 6 months. With aggressive application of the Shareable Content Object (SCO) approach, they turned thousands of hours of instructor-led training into self-paced e-learning. Now, on the backend of such a mammoth effort, they can speak definitively on shareability, efficiencies gained, best-practices in design for shareability, and when shareable content objects simply won't work.
In this session Ben Rockwood will use the AT&T case to discuss foundational, practical, and theoretical applications of shareability in e-learning.
Ben Rockwood Ben has spent the majority of his corporate career as an Associate Director of Training for the Business Solutions division of AT&T. During this time he has led an array of design teams that build curriculum for systems, sales skills, and products for both sales and customer care audiences. Most recently he has been responsible for Cornerstone Certification Programs for Business Sales. His experience in curriculum design includes multimedia development, team-based classroom games, interactive videos, mobile learning, and online curriculum support tools.
Ben remains engaged in the learning community, participating in and speaking at local and national design conferences. He has a master's degree in Instructional Design from the University of Georgia and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University, where he majored in Sociology and minored in Graphic Design.
