The Career Development SIG presents: "From Corporate Ladder to Corporate Lattice™  - how to customize your career."

We will discuss why the end of “normal“career paths is upon us.  No longer a straight path up the corporate ladder, careers are most commonly an undulating journey of climbs and lateral moves.  The corporate ladder is giving way to the corporate lattice.  Corporate lattice is the central idea behind Mass Career Customization™ (MCC).  MCC is Deloitte’s customized model for building careers and developing talent.  We will delve into the research and thought leadership associated with the MCC framework including how every employee, in conjunction with their manager, can tailor his or her respective career path over time.

Agenda:

5:30 - 6:00 pm Networking

6:00 - 7:15 pm Presentation

7:15 - 7:30 pm Q&A

Presenters

Thomas Reynolds graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.  After graduation he served honorably as an Officer in the United States Army for almost 10 years before earning his Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Business.  Since 2003 Thomas has held regional and national Human Resource positions with Deloitte a firm with over 45,000 employees in the U.S. providing audit, financial advisory, tax and consulting services to selected clients.  Currently Thomas serves as a Talent Leader in Deloitte’s Atlanta office.

Elizabeth Lawrence is a National Human Resources Lead in Deloitte’s Atlanta office where she has worked since 2008. Elizabeth’s prior experience includes serving as a Senior HR Manager with The Home Depot and a Senior HR Business Partner with Merck & Co. She graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and earned a Masters in Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Dallas.

Thomas and Elizabeth will share insight helpful to workforce planning professionals responsible for career planning and talent management. Their presentation will also be informative to individuals looking to fit their work into their personal life, and their life into their work, over the long term.
