Who Can Attend?

This study group is open to anyone interested in preparing for the APTD or CPTD exams, including:

• Any member of an ATD local chapter
• Non-members
• General public

*Note: This study group does not go into the level of detail  that a CPTD study group might because we are covering the APTD exam content outline only. However, candidates for either exam can benefit from the resources, discussions, and support network.

Registrant Information:

• Anyone interested in pursuing their APTD or CPTD certification is invited to participate.
• Participants should purchase the TDBoK book (we will use it as our guide)
• This is a study group, not a preparation course. Participants should have their own personal study plan and come prepared to discuss topics following the TD Capability model.
• Review the APTD Certification Handbook for details on certification and the exam.

What To Expect:
The study group sessions are typically structured as follows:

• 14 weekly sessions will focus on the capability model.
• The virtual (Zoom) study group sessions are meant to supplement your independent study. The sessions provide a chance to reinforce knowledge through discussion, clarification of key points, shared resources, and key test-taking strategies. Each study group session is moderated by one or more facilitators from the ATD local chapters.
• This group is a great way to keep accountable and also get encouragement!
• Most sessions will count as 1-2 hours of Professional Development towards meeting the certification requirements (announced at the start of each session)
• Certified APTD and CPTDs and experts in the capability areas may be scheduled as guest speakers during study group sessions.
